Alright - here we go! Indoor is over and
today wraps up conditioning - can you believe it? A couple of things
before we get going...
If your name is not on my list on Monday
for having paid fees, having had a physical in the last year, and
having an emergency card filled out, you WILL NOT be able to try out
Monday or until all of that is turned in. NO EXCEPTIONS!
With today's snow and the temps
not looking much better for next week, you can be assured that it is
going to be a COLD tryout week. Dress warm because we will be outside
no matter what. You will need to bring your running shoes and soccer
gear each day of tryouts. We will do our best to get the fitness out of
the way the first day, but there are always exceptions. Keep posted on
this page - there is a chance we may be holding tryouts on the YMCA's
turf field - easier to shovel!
See you all Monday!
FYI...for those kids who make the team - the parent meeting is Monday,
March 4th at 5:15 in the library. Please make a point to be there.
Thanks!

The 2013 Girls Soccer Season is only a couple months away! We will start preparation for the season in January. Indoor conditioning will be on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:15 - 4:30 and will start on January 14th. Look for more information to follow.
We have a record 62 girls signed up and paid for our indoor league which will start on January 15th. Teams and schedules will be listed in the upcoming weeks. Keep checking back. If you have not paid for indoor, there is not a spot for you this year. Make sure you come to conditioning so you can get to know the coaches and other girls trying out for the team.
In these weeks through the break and leading up to pre-season conditioning, I encourage each of you to be working out and training on your own. Both running and working on strength training so you can prevent injuries in those first couple weeks. If you need a program, check out the NTC Nike app that is free. It is a great place to start.
I've had many questions regarding the way the tryouts work. Soccer is a cut sport, and we generally keep between 50-52 girls for the season. (16 Varsity, and 17 each on JV and Level 3). We are looking for attitude, work ethic, heart, skills and knowledge of the game. Be prepared to give everything you have starting in January.
If you have questions, please feel free to email me at rvhsgirlssoccer@yahoo.com See you soon!
