Tuesday Night Game

We WILL still play our game Tuesday night at 5:55 even though school has been cancelled.  I called down there and as of right now, the games are not cancelled.  I would be surprised if we do play, seeing as it isn't even supposed to hit 0 degrees tomorrow, but until I hear differently, we are planning on playing.  Dress warm!

Also, Wednesday is iffy as well.  I don't want to go all the way down there and freeze our girls and get them sick.  Stay tuned to this blog for more info.  I'll update when I know more...

Conditioning Cancelled For Today

We are going to cancel conditioning for today due to freezing weather and bad road conditions.  Everyone go home after school and stay warm.  If you are up to it, I encourage you to choose 3 exercises that we have been doing (pushups, situps, burbees, squats, floor sprints) and do each exercise 7 times each for 10 rounds.

Check back tomorrow and Wednesday for updates on the indoor games.  They are not sure how cold it will get inside there and at what degree they will cancel the games.  I will update here as soon as I know anything.

Remember...Wednesday's team does NOT play this week  If we go down there, we will do so as a program and scrimmage each other.  Please comment here and let me know if you plan on going to the indoor field Wednesday night at 6:45 to play if the weather permits.  It will be a fun time.  This is for EVERYONE - not just those who usually play Wednesdays.

Everyone goes to Foothills on Wednesday

There is NO regular indoor game for the Wednesday team this week...

Don't forget that this Wednesday, 2/2, we will have conditioning right after school, and then go out to dinner as a program...more details as to where we will go still to come.  Then we will head down to the indoor soccer field and scrimmage each other for 45 minutes.  We get the field at 6:45.  We'd love to see everyone out there.  Let me know if you are going to plan on joining us for this event.  It's a great time to work out, eat and get to know other players, and then get your cleats on and get some touches on the ball.  If you are not on an indoor team already, you will need a signed release form from your parents to participate that night.  Check this blog tomorrow for more info.  Hope to see you there!

Craigslist Fundraiser

I'm going to post this again as it was an earlier post that some of you may not have read.

Our main fundraiser for this soccer season is going to be our Craigslist Fundraiser.  We are looking for items such as furniture, appliances, well...basically anything in your house that is in ok condition that you are looking to donate or get rid of that we can sell on Craigslist.

Here is how the Craigslist fundraiser works.  You email me with the items that you have to sell.  Send me a picture of your item, as well as the basic measurements, and I will post it and deal with the people wanting the item.  Once it sells I will contact you with the name of the person wanting it so you can set up a time with them to come and get it.  It is pretty simple and has worked really well for the families that have already taken advantage of this fundraiser.  This will bring in much more money than cookie dough or other fundraisers, but we need more participation.  All girls that become part of the program are required to help raise money.  This is a way to get that done and get it done early!  If you have items email me at rvhsgirlssoccer@yahoo.com.

If you have stuff ready to go, please get it to me know so that when the season starts we are not overloaded on stuff that could have been sold early.  If you aren't sure if it will sell, let's just try it.  It doesn't hurt to put it out there.  You'd be surprised at the stuff we have sold already!  Backyard play sets that the owners were just going to chop up but instead the buyer bought it for $75 and disassembled it themselves!  EVERYTHING is fair game - We won't know until we try!

New Facebook Page

Our team is now on Facebook!  If you have an account, type Ralston Valley Girls Soccer in the search engine and "Like" our page!  I'd love to get as many followers as possible.  Share this with current and past players.  When your time at RV is done, it will be a great way to look back and see how you made our program awesome in the years that you were here!  It's also 1 more way to stay connected so you don't miss out on anything!

Weekend Workouts II

Here are your weekend workouts for this weekend...Again, when you complete them, comment on this post so I know that you did them!

Friday - REST!
Saturday - 5 squats, 5 push-ups, 5 sit ups - repeat as fast as you can 20 times
Sunday - Run 2 miles.  Lunge 30 steps every 2 minutes during your 2 mile run

There they are.  I hope you will do them no matter what.  My suggestion...do it right when you wake up in the morning so it is done and out of the way.  Then you have no excuses throughout the day to keep you from doing it.  I know you can do it!!!

Day 1 - A Success!

Congratulations to all of you who joined us and completed your first day of conditioning!  You all did a great job and I promise you it will get easier if you keep coming on a regular basis.  You never know what you are in for until you show up, but I know in the end it will pay off.  For those of you who didn't join us today, it's not too late!  Show up Wed. at 3:15.  We are now meeting in the W hall upstairs at RV.

Good luck to both teams at indoor this week!

Keep practicing those handstands!  I know it sounds crazy for soccer girls to be doing them, but trust me - they work every muscle in your body!
